Angelica Panganiban was born in the Philippines. She's now a Filipino American actress, comedian, television host and model. It was her first time as a contestant to finish second. Angelica Hale suffered from double pneumonia in the year 2012. At the time, she was four years old that time. Her sickness was an aggressive strain of strep bacteria. She desperately needed life-saving medical intervention and was placed on ECMO Life-support in Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston. She suffered from numerous organ problems, including failing kidneys. It was then a regimen of hemodialysis, followed by peritoneal dilution. Her return home was finally made after eighteen days in hospital, at a point when she was close to death, and began her long journey back to health. Her life had been forever changed. Angelica had completed a half-year of dialysis, and one year half year of treatment, was ready for her biggest operation of all - the replacement of her kidney. The kidney that would be donated to her came from none other than her mom. In September 2013, Angelica and her mom went through a successful kidney transplantation surgery at two amazing hospitals located across the street from each other-Emory University Hospital and Children's Hospital of Atlanta Egleston. Angelica Hale, a young Atlantan girl who always wanted to be an actress as well as a performer she is still working toward that goal.
